Our house
Thought I'd spend some time this week showing you what our house is like (rental) - here you go:
This is the lovely view from our balcony - you can see the Sky Tower from the balcony, but it hasn't come out on this photo.
I really like it here - it's so quiet and peaceful and yet tis only 10 mins walk into Howick itself - lovely!
The photo below is the view of the weeping willow taken from our settee! If I get my binoculars out whilst sitting on said settee, I can watch the birds VERY CLOSE UP when they land in the branches.
Here is our lovely, lovely wood burner - my best friend on the cooler evenings - although it hasn't been too bad yet - we've had a few practises and it was toasty warm:
It's lovely to just watch the flames roaring away through the glass!
Here's the back of the house - with Kev doing something in the car! From the back, the house has two levels and from the front it looks like a bungalow - due to the slope!
Fig tree laden with figs (yummy cooked in butter and brown sugar), but the birds keep beating us to it and tucking in before we get there!
Physalis plant very laden and very much out of control really - but never mind - yum yum!
Crazy grape vine - growing manically over everything including physalis and fig tree!
Little fig tree centre of picture and lemon tree to the right top corner:
Now - in order to illustrate just how heavy the rain is and how quickly one can get soaked (ie from door to car), I took some photos to show you:
The one below is of our front drive - the water was just gushing down it! Sorry about the flash!
Well - there you go - a little bit of where we live - I like it LOTS!
Hope our next house will be as peaceful.
Yesterday we had a family afternoon at Sylvia Park (a new shopping centre) exploring its 2nd and 3rd phases. Spent a lovely few hours pottering about - especially in Borders - was like being in England again that bit - except books are more expensive here!
After that, we sampled the delights of the new cinema via the movie Spiderman 3. Loads of leg room - people can walk past without you moving your legs! It also has a bean bag movie - yes - you can loll around on a huge bean bag whilst indulging yourself in popcorn and the like! At the back of our room, there were settees, where you can relax with a drink and a meal if you like!
Here's a bit of info for you:
